About the Festival

Rüeggenfest is a free family‑friendly Oktoberfest street festival hosted by Rüeggenbach Brewing Co. in downtown Marshall, Texas. On Saturday, September 6, 2025, from noon until 10:00 PM, the historic courthouse square will transform into a Bavarian celebration. Enjoy craft beers, local vendors, German‑inspired games and live bands playing toe‑tapping tunes all day. Guests are encouraged to wear traditional lederhosen and dirndl dresses to fully embrace the heritage.

Getting to Marshall

By Train (Amtrak)

 

Marshall is a stop on Amtrak’s Texas Eagle route. The station, built in 1912 and restored in the 1990s, doubles as a railroad museum and tourist center. It is located at 800 North Washington Street, Marshall, TX 75670‑5330.

By Intercity Bus

Greyhound serves Marshall via the Pony Express Travel Center at 304 I‑20 East, Marshall, TX 75672. This stop is a bus pickup point only and tickets must be purchased in advance.

By Local Transit

The GoBus flex‑route bus system operates weekday routes throughout Marshall from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Fares are $1 per trip (50¢ for seniors, students and riders with disabilities). Routes begin and end at City Park, and riders may wave to drivers to board.

 

For special pickups within three‑quarters of a mile of the route, call 800‑590‑3371 at least one day in advance.

By Air

The nearest commercial airports are:

  • Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV) – about 40 minutes east of Marshall. Address: 5103 Hollywood Avenue, Suite 300, Shreveport, LA 71109. Phone: 318‑673‑5370. Visit flyshreveport.com for flight information.

  • East Texas Regional Airport (GGG) – about 30 minutes west of Marshall. Located at 269 Terminal Circle, Longview, TX 75603. Administration hours are 8:30 AM–5 PM Monday through Friday; phone: 903‑643‑3031.
